Georgia Tech Acceptance Rate: Class of 2029

The Georgia Institute of Technology, located in Atlanta, has been hailed in recent years as both a “New Ivy” and a “Public Ivy.” A growing number of students are heading to Southern colleges, contributing to a surge in applications at schools like Georgia Tech, which received nearly 67,000 applications to the Class of 2029, a 12% increase over last year and its highest on record.

GEORGIA TECH ACCEPTANCE RATE

Georgia Tech’s Fall 2025 admit rate was 12.7% overall; Georgia residents enjoyed a higher acceptance rate of 30% compared to 9% for nonresidents. Both acceptance rates decreased compared to the Class of 2028, from 33% and 10% respectively, with an overall rate of 13.8%.

Of the admitted students, 12% are first-generation and 44% intend to study engineering.

Georgia Tech boasts one of the oldest and largest co-op programs in the U.S., dating back to 1912. Over a third of Georgia Tech students receive a co-op designation on their transcripts, which requires performing three work terms with a single employer, alternating these experiences with academic semesters or a summer term of study.
