SAT / ACT Tutor (Contract)

Top Tier Admissions is seeking experienced SAT/ACT Tutors to work one-on-one with highly motivated high school students and families in a virtual setting. This role is ideal for educators who combine deep content mastery with a thoughtful, student-centered approach and high professional standards.

About the Role

• Provide individualized SAT and/or ACT tutoring to students in grades 9-12
• Diagnose student strengths and gaps and tailor instruction accordingly
• Help students build test strategy, confidence, and durable academic skills
• Collaborate with Top Tier Admissions counselors to ensure tutoring aligns with broader academic and admissions goals
• Maintain clear, professional communication with families and internal team members

Qualifications

• Demonstrated expertise in SAT and/or ACT instruction, with a strong track record of results
• Prior experience tutoring or teaching high school students
• Clear, confident communicator with a warm, polished presence
• Highly reliable, organized, and experienced working in a high-touch, boutique educational environment
• Successful candidates typically bring strong academic training and a deep respect for rigorous, concept-driven instruction

Logistics

• Contract (1099) position
• Fully remote
• Competitive hourly compensation, commensurate with experience

Guide high school students through rigorous, inquiry-driven research projects and support advanced academic exploration.

About the Role

• Guide topic development, research methodology, critical thinking, and academic writing.
• Provide structured, substantive feedback throughout each project.
• Collaborate with the Top Tier Admissions team to maintain program quality.

Qualifications and Logistics

• Advanced degree required (MA, PhD, or equivalent).
• Strong research and writing background plus teaching or mentoring experience.
• Remote contract with project-based compensation based on experience.

Provide personalized, one-on-one guidance to students in grades 7–12, from academic and extracurricular planning through applications, essays, and final decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Guide students and families through all aspects of the college admissions process.
• Review applications, essays, and other admissions materials.
• Contribute to team meetings, professional development, and thought leadership.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in college admissions, academic advising, or student mentorship.
• Exceptional writing, editing, relationship-building, and project-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, including some evenings and weekends.
