This Stage of the Journey

What makes this different.

From the moment you enroll, you have a dedicated advising relationship for the full arc of college. Someone who takes the time to learn how you think, where you are strong, and where you want to go, and who is there whenever a question comes up, from your first semester through the decisions that follow graduation.

That guidance reaches well beyond admissions. Choosing a major and the coursework that supports it. Identifying and pursuing internships that connect with your interests and goals. Weighing whether graduate school makes sense, and if so, when. Applying for fellowships and scholarships. Thinking through a first job and how to approach the offer. If and when graduate school becomes the goal, the counselors who have worked alongside you guide the applications, essays, and interviews.

For families who have been with us since high school, this is the natural next chapter: the same standard of guidance you already know, now aimed at the college years and everything taking shape behind them.

What’s Included

Support that grows with you.

Your program is built around you, so the emphasis shifts as your goals come into focus. Here is what the relationship covers.

Throughout college

  • An individualized review of your academic background, experiences, and goals, with a written roadmap to guide your next steps.
  • Ongoing one-on-one guidance by phone, email, and Zoom throughout your program.
  • Course and major planning that keeps your strongest options open.
  • Internship, research, and summer planning built around where you want to end up.
  • Fellowship and scholarship strategy.
  • Networking and early guidance for life after graduation, including a first job search and offer conversations where appropriate.

When graduate school is the goal

  • A clear read on the paths and program types in your field, and which ones fit your goals.
  • A personalized testing plan, with referrals for separately purchased GRE, GMAT, LSAT, or MCAT preparation when needed.
  • A final school list and an application timeline you can follow.
  • Guidance on every part of the application, from the statement of purpose to letters of recommendation to the résumé or CV.
  • Interview preparation, including mock interviews.
  • Waitlist guidance and help evaluating offers within your agreed program.
  • Full-service, one-on-one access to your private counselor for the length of the program

Common Questions

The answers, honestly.

Still have questions? A quick conversation is often the fastest way to find the clarity you need.

Who is this program for?

College students who want an advisor for the full arc of college, not just a single application. Some come to us certain they are headed to graduate school. Many are still deciding, and want help finding the right path before they commit to it.

How is this different from your Graduate Application Support?

Private Counseling for College Success provides ongoing academic and career guidance, including graduate-application support when it falls within your program’s scope. Graduate Application Support is a shorter-term option for students seeking focused help with their applications.

What if I am not sure graduate school is right for me?

You do not need to have decided on graduate school to benefit from this program. Your counselor can help you weigh further study against work experience, fellowships, and other options in light of your goals.

Can I start with something smaller?

Yes. Top Tier Compass offers an intake meeting, career assessments, a personalized written roadmap, and a follow-up meeting. It is a separate program, not included in Private Counseling. If you begin with Compass and later enroll in Private Counseling for College Success, the full cost of Compass will be applied toward your tuition.

How do I enroll, and what does it cost?

One-, two-, three-, and four-year programs are available. Tuition depends on your starting point and the length of support you select. Connect with our team to discuss the appropriate scope, timing, and tuition for your goals.
