TTA Top Tip: Georgetown’s Early Action policy stands out — it defers all EA applicants who aren’t admitted outright to the Regular Decision round. Unlike other top schools, applying early doesn’t offer a major statistical advantage; the EA and RD acceptance rates are typically quite similar. Only about 15% of deferred students are eventually admitted. Georgetown’s EA is also restrictive, meaning you can’t apply to any binding Early Decision programs elsewhere. For this reason, we advise using your ED choice strategically — apply early to your top-choice school where ED provides a true admissions boost.
