TTA Takeaway: Yale now denies more early applicants than it defers. A move that Jeremiah Quinlan, dean of undergraduate admissions and financial aid, attributed to the increase in applications and the input of high school counselors who are urging colleges to make final decisions earlier. If you have been deferred from Yale this year, it should be taken as a positive reflection on your application—you will still be seriously considered for admission in the regular decision round.
