Get Into Caltech
California Institute of Technology is ranked as the #11 National University, by U.S. News & World Report. Founded in 1891, it is a competitive world-renowned science and engineering school, admitting just 2.3 percent of applicants for the Class of 2028. Today, approximately 987 undergraduate students and 1,410 graduate students attend classes on the 124-acre campus in Pasadena, California.

Caltech partners with 13 Liberal Arts colleges to offer a 3/2 program (two degrees in 5 years). Applying to Caltech
Students can apply to Caltech through either Restrictive Early Action or Regular Decision admissions plans. Restrictive Early Action applications are due on November 1st and allow students to receive admissions decisions in mid-December. Regular Decision applications are due January 3rd and students can expect to receive decisions by the end of March.
Students can apply to Caltech using the Common Application or Questbridge Application. Applicants for the 2026-27 application cycle need to submit SAT or ACT scores. Caltech will superscore the SAT and requires submission of all test scores.

Caltech accepted 428 of the applicants to the Class of 2030. Last year 427 applicants or 3.78% were accepted, to its Class of 2029.
