If you’re a high school senior who missed initial college application deadlines, don’t panic! There are still a handful of colleges and universities that are keeping their admissions doors open well into the spring. Whether you’re looking for a new path after a gap year, or simply couldn’t meet earlier deadlines, many schools offer rolling admissions or extended deadlines to help students like you find their perfect fit.
WHAT IS ROLLING ADMISSIONS?
Rolling admissions is a system where schools accept applications throughout the year, rather than sticking to a strict deadline. Schools that operate on this cycle will review your application as soon as it is complete, and often make decisions in a matter of weeks. This allows students the opportunity to apply later in the cycle, and, in some cases, get a decision faster than those who applied under regular decision.
It’s worth noting that some colleges with rolling admissions also have priority deadlines, meaning that while they may accept applications after the deadline, applying sooner rather than later can increase your odds of acceptance. Be sure to check each school’s admissions website for specific dates and details.
Here are a few well-known universities that typically have later application windows or rolling admissions policies.
