Review of the Class of 2030 — Entering Fall 2026

Brown University

For the Class of 2030, Brown University admitted 2,564 students from a pool of 47,937 applicants — an overall acceptance rate of 5.35%, down from 6.34% for the Class of 2029. Of those admitted, 890 students were accepted through Early Decision at a 16.46% acceptance rate, with the remaining 1,674 offered admission through Regular Decision.

To put the trend in perspective: Brown admitted 2,710 students from 42,774 applicants for the Class of 2029, and 2,638 students from a pool of 48,904 for the Class of 2028 — underscoring a sustained pattern of rising application volume and tightening selectivity. 

Columbia University

For the Class of 2030, Columbia University admitted 2,581 students from a pool of 61,031 applications, resulting in an acceptance rate of 4.23% — down from 4.94% the previous cycle, when 2,946 students were admitted from 59,616 applications. Columbia received 5,497 Early Decision applications this cycle.

For additional context, Columbia admitted 2,325 students from 60,247 applications for the Class of 2028, for an acceptance rate of 3.86% — a reminder that Columbia’s selectivity, while fluctuating slightly year over year, remains among the most competitive in the country.

Cornell University

For the Class of 2030, Cornell University admitted 5,776 students, though the total application pool has not yet been disclosed, making an overall acceptance rate unavailable at this time. For context, Cornell admitted 6,077 students from 72,523 applications for the Class of 2029, and 5,516 students from 65,612 applications for the Class of 2028 — a trajectory that reflects both growing demand and tightening selectivity over recent cycles.

Dartmouth College

For the Class of 2030, Dartmouth College admitted 1,687 students from a pool of 28,863 applicants, for an overall acceptance rate of 5.84% — down slightly from 6.02% the previous cycle, when 1,710 students were admitted from 28,230 applications. Application volume continues to climb, reflecting Dartmouth’s growing national appeal.

Looking back, Dartmouth admitted 1,710 students for the Class of 2028 at a 5.40% acceptance rate, and extended offers to 1,797 applicants for the Class of 2027 — a multi-year pattern that underscores the sustained and increasing competition for a place in each incoming class.

Harvard University

Harvard did not release its admissions data for the Class of 2030. For the Class of 2029, Harvard admitted 2,003 students for an acceptance rate of 4.18% — an increase from 3.65% the prior cycle across combined Single-Choice Early Action and Regular Decision rounds. For the Class of 2028, Harvard received 54,008 applications and admitted 1,970 students, representing one of the most competitive applicant pools in the university’s history. As Class of 2030 data becomes available, we will update accordingly.

Penn – The University of Pennsylvania

For the Class of 2030, approximately 61,000 students applied to the University of Pennsylvania across Early Decision and Regular Decision rounds, with roughly 7,800 applying through ED. Penn has not disclosed acceptance rates or admit counts for this cycle.

For context, Penn admitted 3,530 students from 72,544 applications for the Class of 2029, for an overall acceptance rate of 4.87%. The year prior, 3,523 students were admitted from 65,236 applicants for the Class of 2028, resulting in a 5.40% acceptance rate. As complete Class of 2030 data becomes available, we will update accordingly.

Princeton University

Princeton University did not release admissions statistics for the Class of 2030. For the Class of 2029, Princeton admitted 1,668 students from 42,303 applicants for an acceptance rate of 3.94%. The year prior, Princeton offered admission to 1,868 students from 40,468 applicants for the Class of 2028, for an acceptance rate of 4.62%, as reported in the university’s Common Data Set. As Class of 2030 data becomes available, we will update accordingly. 

Yale University

For the Class of 2030, Yale University admitted 2,328 students from a pool of 54,919 applicants, for an overall acceptance rate of 4.24% — down from 4.75% the prior cycle. Of those admitted, 779 were accepted through the Single-Choice Early Action round from a pool of 7,140 SCEA applicants.

For additional context, Yale admitted 2,387 students from 50,264 applications for the Class of 2029 at a 4.75% acceptance rate, and 2,227 students from 57,517 applications for the Class of 2028 at 3.87% — reflecting the year-over-year volatility in both application volume and selectivity that has come to define the current admissions landscape. 

MIT – The Massachusetts Institute of Technology

For the Class of 2030, MIT admitted 1,299 students from 28,349 applicants for an overall acceptance rate of 4.58%. In its Early Action round, MIT admitted 655 students from 11,883 applications — a 5.51% early acceptance rate, the lowest among its peer group of Ivy League institutions and Stanford.

For context, MIT admitted 1,334 students from 29,281 applicants for the Class of 2029, and 1,284 students from 28,232 applicants for the Class of 2028 at an acceptance rate of 4.55% — reflecting remarkable consistency in both class size and selectivity across recent cycles.

Stanford University

Stanford did not release admissions statistics for the Class of 2030. For the Class of 2029, Stanford admitted 2,302 students from 60,646 applicants for an acceptance rate of 3.80%, as reported in its Common Data Set. The year prior, Stanford admitted 2,067 students from 57,326 applicants for the Class of 2028 at 3.61% — confirming Stanford’s standing as the most selective institution among its peer group of Ivy League universities and MIT. As Class of 2030 data becomes available, we will update accordingly.
